Sustainable Water Solutions: Closed-Loop Systems

Protecting Ghana's waterways with innovative dam and filtration technology for responsible mining.

Our Value Proposition

Enable sustainable mining practices while protecting Ghana's most vital resource.

30-Year Asset Lifespan

Delivers a 30-year asset lifespan with O&M costs 25% lower than traditional dams.

New Revenue Streams

Generates annual O&M revenue streams of $100K–$500K per dam, depending on size.

Significant Water Savings

Enables water reuse savings of $0.15–$0.30 per cubic meter for industry/agriculture.

The Challenge: Unchecked Water Contamination

  • Current practices often involve pumping water directly from rivers for gold washing, discharging contaminated water back into ecosystems.
  • This leads to severe river pollution, sediment buildup, and widespread destruction of aquatic habitats and biodiversity.
  • Lack of proper water management and containment results in long-term environmental damage and health risks for communities.

Our Solution: Goldlands' Closed-Loop System

  • Strategic Dam Construction: We engineer and construct purpose-built, geomembrane-lined dams to create reliable, contained water reservoirs for mining operations, preventing seepage.
  • Wastewater Containment & Sedimentation: All used water is directed to secure settling ponds, allowing heavy sediments to naturally separate before the filtration process begins.
  • Advanced Multi-Stage Filtration: We implement a tailored filtration train—including flocculation, coagulation, and activated carbon filters—to effectively remove suspended solids and chemical contaminants.
  • Water Recycling & Monitoring: The treated, clean water is continuously monitored for quality before being pumped back into the main dam, creating a sustainable, zero-discharge system that conserves water.
